Orange by Angela Chen

September 23rd 2010 - Orange by Angela Chen

News swept Vancouver and her neighborhood about the fashion show of Angela Chen in Richmond at the Whitebox photography studio. Every fashionista visited the venue to see Chen’s gorgeous collection of Fall next season.

You might know Angela Chen - a Vancouver fashion designer rising to the top of the fashion industry that graduated from the prestigious fashion school of Parsons in New York City. I went to her fashion show tonight to see this rising star from the fashion television I watch every weekend. I got to say that all that walk in the pouring rain was worth it. It was worth seeing her fashion presentation and show. I went with my friend Nina since the people that are supposed to accompany me cannot make it.

Everything from her collection for fall was amazing. It was definitely well made and tailored and beautifully designed. It was chic, sophisticated and modern with a touch of minimalism. It was urban and hip and young but at the same time with a tickle of fun and class. Angela Chen’s designs are known worldwide for her monochromatic collections - her talent are hugely appreciated by Kirsten Dunst, Daria Werbowy and Coco Rocha - and I will never blame them from being blown away by this Taiwanese born designer.

I love the texture, the fabric and the luxurious vibe that each masterpiece secrete. The glamor and elegance were on the highest level. The silhouettes were classic yet still playful and the play of fabrics (from knit to silk organza) was genius.

I was Pretty happy that the models actually came back to mingle around and sell their clothes to the public. I am also pleased that I can actually take picture of them in groups to get the sense of the collection as a whole and details of each dresses to see how much workmanships were put into them. The fabrics are gorgeous and the glamorous dresses were probably the most favorite one of the crowd.

Overall the night was an amazing experience. It was high class with free champaign and food with amazing people with style that can compete with the world’s fashion capitals. The dresses that Angela made was exquisite and stunning. It was a nice way to mingle to the creative world of fashion and art within Vancouver.
