Burberry Fall and Winter 2011

Burberry’s latest collection (Fall and Winter 2011) that showed this morning (February 21, 2011 at 8AM PST) was more than regal, modern and sleek and polished down right English fashion. For this season, Burberry went furthermore to the marketing business of Fashion. Christopher Bailey was not content with his stream live video online to allow everyone in the world to witness his gorgeous collection filled with luxurious coats and bags. Instead, he even showed his collection live at one of the screen in Piccadilly Circus and brought snow on the catwalk. Think about pushing the envelope. For some reason, however, I can’t stop thinking if Christopher Bailey also used dogs as his inspirations for his men and women’s collection for Fall and Winter 2011.

The collection started with quite a minimalistic and calm vibe to a very crisp, bold and warm pastel colored trenches and coats and gradually became a very luxurious Cruela Devil-esque lookbook (in a good fashionable way, of course) with its opulent fur coats and fresh modern silhouettes. If you haven’t notice, Burberry’s show is all about the coats and accessories. The classic warrior trench coats of Burberry with a magical and divine twist of embellishments and silhouettes were a hit to everyone in a very fast paced Fashion industry. The black and white section of the collection where majestic garments were shown was the incomparable part of the show. This is also the first time Cruela Devil was put into reality.

The textures, patterns and materials that hailed the runway was delightful. The plaid coats and fur trenches and mink coats with a very dazzling touch of high quality traditional materials that the house used were ravishing. The silhouettes were also one of the alluring element of Burberry’s latest collection. The flare comfortable and slim pants paired with a puff of cozy fur coats and minimalistic trenches were refreshing and polished look for the snow season this year. On the other hand, the shoes were very simply mutated wedges that does nothing other than flatter the whole collection.

Overall, Burberry’s collection for Fall and Winter 2011 was more than magical. It was fantasy in a practical and very fashionable world of Fashion. Christopher Bailey will be the king of glorious and intricate collections.
